2023 Toyota 4Runner vs 2022 Toyota 4Runner
Serving Clarksville, IN
Toyota’s 4Runner is a midsize SUV that has maintained its strong appeal across several decades and five major generational updates. As you consider the 4Runner for your upcoming purchase, you understandably need to learn about the improvements that Toyota has made to the 4Runner’s most recent model year. With our passion for customer satisfaction, our Jeff Wyler Toyota of Clarksville team is ready to help you get to know the exciting options available.
Performance
Toyota has not changed the 4Runner’s powerful performance abilities between the 2022 and 2023 model years. All 4Runner trims have a V6, 4.0-liter gas system that yields 270 horsepower for both years. This is linked with a five-speed auto transmission. The lower trims have a rear-wheel drive layout, and the top trims come with standard all-wheel drive. Some 4Runner trims for 2022 and 2023 have an upgraded suspension system, a locking rear differential, and off-road drive settings.
Appearance
In 2023, Toyota introduces the 4Runner 40th Anniversary Special Edition. It has all of the features you will find in the base SR5 trim and adds distinguishing exterior accents. These include orange and yellow exterior accents, bronze wheels, and a unique grille design. Across the full trim line for both years, the 4 Runner displays its signature boxy shape with a long, level roof. Square wheel wells and a lower-body accent dress up the sides. The front end has a slender bumper that edges into the foglamp ports, a downturned grille, and prominent LED headlights. The headlights are outlined sharply on two sides by an LED bar.
Features
The 4Runner 40th Anniversary Special Edition interior stands apart from other trims with bronze-colored stitching on the seats. In select or all trims, the other features in the 4Runner are unchanged. Some of the items that you could enjoy while driving your new 4Runner are a sunroof, an optional third row of seats, heated front seats, smart device connections, leather upholstery, an integrated navigation system, a JBL sound system, reclining seats in the second row, an 8-inch touch display screen, a household power outlet in the cargo area, adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert, forward collision mitigation and more.
Our Jeff Wyler Toyota of Clarksville sales reps are looking forward to supporting your continued comparison of the 4Runner’s trims and model years. Please stop by our huge showroom soon to prepare your model research with a test drive.
* Before towing, confirm your vehicle and trailer are compatible, hooked up and loaded properly and that you have any necessary additional equipment. Do not exceed any Weight Ratings and follow all instructions in your Owner’s Manual. The maximum you can tow depends on base curb weight plus the total weight of any cargo, occupants, and added vehicle equipment. “Added vehicle equipment” includes additional standard/optional equipment and accessories added by the manufacturer, dealers, and/or vehicle owners. The only way to be certain of your vehicle’s exact curb weight is to weigh your vehicle without passengers or cargo. [Calculated with the new SAE J2807 method.] Installation of a tow hitch receiver or other accessories located near the rear bumper may require disabling or removing the kick sensor, and the sensor operation setting in your vehicle should be turned off. See Owner’s Manual for limitations.
** Blind Spot Monitor: Do not rely exclusively on the Blind Spot Monitor. Always look over your shoulder and use your turn signal. There are limitations to the function, detection and range of the monitor. See Owner's Manual for additional limitations and details.
** Rear Cross-Traffic Alert: Do not rely exclusively on the Rear Cross-Traffic Alert system. Always look over your shoulder and use your mirrors to confirm rear clearance. There are limitations to the function, detection and range of the system. See Owner’s Manual for additional limitations and details.
