2023 Toyota RAV4 vs 2023 Toyota Highlander

Serving Clarksville, IN

Toyota's SUV lineup for 2023 has several exciting models, including the popular RAV4 and Highlander crossovers. The 2023 Toyota RAV4 is a small, two-row crossover that offers a balance of utility, great performance, and modern features for you to enjoy. The three-row Highlander is a midsize crossover that is equally versatile and impressively outfitted. With the full support of our sales associates at Jeff Wyler Toyota of Clarksville, we can help you discover the exciting differences between these models.

Performance

The full trim lineup for the 2023 RAV4 is moved by a four-cylinder, 203-horsepower gas engine. It connects to an eight-speed auto transmission. Most of the RAV4's trims are front-wheel drive vehicles with available all-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive comes standard for the Adventure and TRD Off-Road trims. The 2023 Toyota Highlander is also available with only one powertrain, and this is a 265-horsepower, turbo four-cylinder system. Across the full trim lineup, the Highlander is also equipped with an auto-speed automatic transmission and the option of either front-wheel or all-wheel drive.

Appearance

Visually, the 2023 Toyota RAV4 and the Highlander are easy to differentiate on the road. The smaller RAV4 has a rugged, athletic design with chiseled sides and geometric definition over the molded wheel wells. Its look is reinforced by the hexagon grille that pairs with rectangular foglight ports and sharply defined headlights. Select trims have a skid plate, roof rails, and other features. The 2023 Highlander has a larger stance with sleek, prominent contouring that rises prominently over the back fenders. The front is styled with a downturned bumper, an A-frame grille, deep settings for the foglights, and LED-underscored headlights.

Features

The RAV4 and the Highlander share many features, but the Highlander is available with several additional features. Both of these Toyota crossovers are available with a surround-view parking camera, a wireless charging pad, a digital rearview mirror, a panoramic sunroof, an advanced sound system, a digital instrument panel, Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 tech, wireless smartphone app connections, and more. The Highlander may also be equipped with a wireless hotspot, leather upholstery, additional safety technologies, Amazon Alexa, second-row sunshades and captain's chairs, a navigation system, and a few additional features.

1. Never tow beyond a vehicle's published towing capacities. Before towing, confirm your vehicle and trailer are compatible, hooked up and loaded properly and that you have any necessary additional equipment. Do not exceed any Weight Ratings and follow all instructions in your Owner's Manual. The maximum you can tow depends on base curb weight plus the total weight of any cargo, occupants, and added vehicle equipment. "Added vehicle equipment" includes additional standard/optional equipment and accessories added by the manufacturer, dealers, and/or vehicle owners. The only way to be certain of your vehicle's exact curb weight is to weigh your vehicle without passengers or cargo. [Calculated with the new SAE J2807 method.] Installation of a tow hitch receiver or other accessories located near the rear bumper may require disabling or removing the kick sensor, and the sensor operation setting in your vehicle should be turned off. See Owner's Manual for limitations.
2. Cargo and load capacity limited by weight and distribution. Always properly secure cargo and cargo area.
