Thanks to their robust appeal and exceptional capabilities, car shoppers have been debating between the Toyota Corolla and the Toyota Camry for years. As close siblings in the modern Toyota lineup, they understandably have your full attention today as well. Both of these models have evolved beautifully across many decades with a variety of shared traits and robust individuality. Are you ready to learn more about these exciting possibilities?

Performance

The 2022 Toyota Corolla is the smaller of these two models, offering two powertrain possibilities. A 139-horsepower, 1.8-liter, four-cylinder engine is tied to a continuously variable transmission in the Corolla’s lower trim levels. The top Corolla trims are equipped with a 169-horsepower, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. This is connected to a dynamic-shift continuously variable transmission. The 2022 Toyota Camry, on the other hand, has two powertrains as well. One is a 203-horsepower, four-cylinder engine that is paired with an eight-speed auto transmission. The other Camry powertrain is 206-horsepower, four-cylinder engine. It also has an automatic transmission with a sport-tuned suspension system.

Appearance

The Corolla has a sporty look with a forward-leaning nose and a large, black grille. The grille sinks to the bottom of the nose, and it is topped by an accent piece connecting two scythe-shaped LED headlights. The hood is perfectly rounded, and the sides have gentle contouring. On the other hand, the Camry has a more upright stance, but it is still undeniably athletic from front to rear. The sporty nose has a wraparound grille coupled with thin, pointed LED headlights. The curved hood has light sculpting, and the fenders are subtly defined.

Features

The Corolla and the Camry share various features, but the Camry has a few standout elements. The models both have heated front seats, cloth or simulated leather upholstery, a sunroof, a push-button ignition, keyless entry, an 8-inch touch display screen, and other features at different trim levels. Some of the Camry’s trim levels have a heads-up display screen, assistive safety features, a 9-inch touch display screen, a JBL sound system, and a few extras.
