2022 Toyota Corolla Cross vs 2022 Toyota Highlander

Serving Clarksville, IN

The Corolla Cross is a new crossover SUV in Toyota’s lineup for 2022. This compact crossover SUV has immediate appeal through its superior style and great features. However, you may be wondering how it stacks up to a long-standing option like the Highlander. The Highlander is a midsize SUV that has three rows of seating, but this only describes a few of their many differences. Our team at Jeff Wyler Toyota of Clarksville is ready to help you learn more about these exciting crossover SUV models.

Performance

The 2022 Corolla Cross is available in your choice of three trim levels. All pull 169 horsepower from a four-cylinder engine. A continuously variable transmission with front-wheel drive is standard, and all-wheel drive is optional. The 2022 Toyota Highlander has one powertrain option for its trim levels as well. It receives 295 horsepower from a V6, 3.5-liter engine. It comes with an eight-speed auto transmission with front-wheel drive. Like the Corolla Cross, all-wheel drive is optional for all Highlander’s trim levels.

Appearance

The Corolla Cross is easy on the eyes with a long, tapered profile and tall ground clearance. This ground clearance is combined with thick molding and a front skid plate to boost functionality. The front and rear fenders and the wheel wells have a squared-off definition. The nose shows an A-frame, downturned grille, a black bumper and sharp, wedge-like LED headlights. The Highlander is larger across all dimensions. It boasts a taller, flatter roofline with a sharper angle through the nose. The sides have angled definitions with robust fenders and round wheel wells. The downturned grille sits on top of a chrome-accented bumper with a similar shape. The headlights are slightly detached from the grille. They angle boldly toward the rear and have sharp corners.

Features

If you opt for the Corolla Cross, your Toyota crossover may come with a nine-speaker JBL sound system, a sunroof, auto-leveling headlights, front and rear parking sensors, heated front seats, a dual-zone auto climate control system, three USB ports, an 8-inch touch display screen and more. The 2022 Highlander offers many of these features. It also stands apart with standard or available features like a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display, a digital rear mirror, heated seats in the second row, an 11-speaker JBL sound system, memory settings for the driver’s seat, an intercom system, a household power outlet, a wireless charging pad, and other items.
