What's New for the 2023 Toyota Prius?
The Toyota Prius has been at the forefront of the auto industry’s hybrid evolution throughout its history. This popular model will introduce its fifth generation in 2023. Doing so debuts a stunning exterior, improved capabilities, and a fresh cabin design.
On the exterior, the 2023 Prius displays an aerodynamic profile with uninterrupted flow from the nose to the rear. This creates long, stretched side windows for a modern touch. The sides are smoothly accented with a cropped, crisp accent that rises partially up the door panels. The front end of the 2023 Toyota Prius is equally bold, with a powerful, outlined bumper and a slender bar connecting the dramatic LED headlights.
On the interior, Prius also has a new look. A pair of elevated display screens enhance the dashboard. These include one for the driver’s digital instruments and another for the infotainment system. Below the central display screen, the design has layered elements for the AC system and the sound system. Interior features in the 2023 Prius include wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, an available internet hotspot, a JBL sound system, heated seats, and a panoramic sunroof. The Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 technologies are also standard for all trim levels. These include pre-collision warning with auto braking, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, and adaptive cruise control.
The gas motor in the Toyota Prius expands from a 1.8-liter unit to a 2.0-liter unit. The nickel hydride battery in the 2022 Prius has been upgraded with a lithium-ion battery. These changes boost the total horsepower production to 194 for front-wheel drive or 196 horsepower for all-wheel drive. In addition, the zero-to-60 rating for the 2022 Prius is 10.7 seconds, which improves to 7.2 seconds for the 2023 model.
