What's New for the 2022 Toyota Prius?
For the last several decades, the Toyota Prius has taken its rightful place at the top of the list for EV shoppers in the Clarksville area. This hybrid car has passed through four generations, and each generation brought innovative improvements to the table. Toyota has also made many mid-generational improvements to the Prius. For example, in 2022, the Prius introduces the Nightshade as a new trim level. This trim level comes with all of the features and equipment that the 2020 Edition came with. The Prius Nightshade sits close to the top of the trim lineup, taking the second position behind the Limited. It stands apart from other trims with its black-painted wheels and dark exterior accents.
All other aspects of the 2022 Toyota Prius are unchanged from the 2021 model year. All trims continue to pull 121 total horsepower from a 1.8-liter, four-cylinder hybrid engine. This gas-electric system is paired with an automatic continuously variable transmission. Notably, the Prius AWD-e is also available. While the other trims have front-wheel drive, the AWD-e is an all-wheel drive car.
The exterior design of the Prius maintains its modern appeal. This is a small car with a strong angle through the hood and a scalloped roofline. The LED-enhanced headlights have a triangular quality. The thin grille is integrated with an athletic front bumper. The sides are almost smooth except for a molded, linear element that runs close to the rear fenders.
