In 2012, the Toyota GR86 was released due to combined engineering between Toyota and Subaru. While the GR86 has benefited from minor updates over the years, the 2022 version is the first to show off powerful updates from front to rear. For example, the exterior continues to have the smooth flow that you expect from a sports coupe, but it also has revised headlights with bold LED ribbon underlining them. The angle of the headlights is mimicked at the rear with eye-catching taillights. The front end also has well-defined scoops that flank the tapered hood and a robust grille design. The GR86’s new look includes a pair of centrally mounted exhaust finishers, a sharp spoiler, and a strong definition on the sides.
The interior of the 2022 Toyota GR86 shows off minor design updates, but the look continues to be minimalistic. Despite the scaled-down style that enables you to keep your focus on your fantastic driving experience, the GR86 is loaded with features. It comes with an 8-inch touch display screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, bolstered sport seats with heating elements, a two-zone climate control system, a padded steering wheel, and a keyless starter.
The GR86 continues to have a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, but mechanical changes give it a boost up to 184 horsepower. This reflects an increase of 23 horsepower. The manual transmission continues to be standard, but you can now opt for an automatic transmission. Mechanical updates have facilitated faster acceleration.
